The goals of the embrace project
Promote diversity and the equality of all people to the extent that these concepts move from the category of ideals toward realities.
Provide educational experiences for families, schools, businesses, and faith communities through the process of acceptance and affirmation of all persons as valued members and/or employees.
Assist persons who are experiencing a disconnect with their own humanity, work-place, family, peers, faith tradition, and beliefs due to the failure to experience authentic equality and the marginalization that results.
Provide counsel and mediation for persons and their families through the process of any kind of “coming out” event to facilitate movement toward acceptance and affirmation of the individual as a valued and loved member of the family.
Assist families, schools, businesses, and faith communities through the process of inclusion of all persons while helping those communities to avoid the feeling that inclusion is a compromise or a change in their core beliefs and values.
